Woman crazy for truckie, poisons husband and abandons children

PHNOM PENH - A woman with the unfortunate name of Meth Chin, aged 38, living in Por Senchey, Phnom Penh, was arrested on March 24, 2018, on charges of poisoning her husband and abandoning her children under Article 27, Article 201 and Article 321 of the Penal Code. The woman risks 25 years in prison.
She was working as a vendor in front of a factory, and it turns out that she was also having a torrid affair with a truck driver called Pen Noeun. He was younger than her, and fitter than her 40 year old husband. She was so crazy about him that sometimes she would stay at his place and not come home at all to her husband and children. Her children were neglected and she wasn't always turning up for work.

Then the woman needed money, or perhaps her lover asked her to get some. So she attempted to murder her husband by poisoning, and after she left him collapsed unconscious, she rifled the house, stealing money and jewellery to take with her to her lover's.
One of the children said later that they had seen their mother put some "medicine" in their father's food. The father was taken to hospital and saved, but he said he did not want his wife back and he laid criminal charges against her in the name of himself and his children. The woman was arrested at her lover's house by the police and she is presently detained at Prey Sar prison.
