Phnom Penh: On March 10 at 10:20 pm, an unidentified foreigner riding a big motorbike crashed into a tuk tuk at high speed in front of Cambodiana Hotel on Preah Sisovath Boulevard, Khan Doun Penh, Phnom Penh.

The source said that before the incident, a tuk tuk driver was driving on Preah Sisovath boulevard in a North to south direction. Then right on the intersection near the Cambodiana hotel, a foreigner driving very fast on a big motorbike smashed into the rear of the tuk tuk causing the tuk tuk driver serious injuries. He was taken to hospital immediately.
Following the incident, the police came to check the scene and took both the motorbike and the tuk tuk to keep at the police station while investigating the accident.

"smashed into the rear of the tuk tuk". Colliding with the rear caused it to flip and flatten the cab.
Glad I wasn't a passenger! Looks like a remorque may be a better option, if you need a Tuk Tuk.

So the tuk tuk driver got serious injuries, but no mention - or pictures - of the barang's injuries?

Maybe the barang was vaulted into the Tonle Sap. For having turned over the tuktuk, the moto doesn't look too damaged. It's a very strange accident.

Not really.
If the rickshaw was turning and the moto touched the rear it’s be enough to flip it.
1.5t cars get flipped easily. It’s just a matter of finding that sweet spot.

The cab crushing is a little off-putting.

Yeah that's true, and it's possible the moto rider managed to regain control.

The Bajaj tuk tuk drivers don't need to wear helmets either so it's easy to see how he could get badly injured.

There’s a reason three wheelers aren’t that popular!

That bike is spotless. Must have bumped a tuk tuk on the verge of flipping, at most.
