CHRIS KNIGHT (Down & Out Retired New Zealander) Arrested for Locker Room Theft in Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Phnom Penh, Cambodia News: on March 08, the Royal Gendarmerie of Phnom Penh transferred a 67 year old New Zealander, CHRIS KNIGHT, to the court on charges of stealing the belongings of a customer at Good Time Exercise Club on February 25, on street 273,Sangkat Toul Sangke, Khan Oureusey, Phnom Penh. The suspect was arrested on March 06,2018.
Mr Knight said that he used to work in the army in New Zealand and was retired.Because he had visited Cambodia 2 ago as a tourist, he decided to live in Cambodia using his retirement wage.
However, after spending all his money, he moved from staying in a hotel to a guesthouse, then he went to live at his friend's house in Sankat Tonle Basak. He was totally broke and had no money, so he often stole things from Star Mart or Good time Exercise Club.
On February 25, 2018 at 7:30 pm, the suspect went to the locker room of the Good Time Exercise Club, where he broke into a guest's locker to steal a wallet, which contained $20, a Khmer ID card, and some other documents. After the theft, the suspect went to hide at his friend's house.
After his arrest by Cambodian police, Mr Knight confessed that this was the third time he had stolen things from Good Time Club.
