- The family of a woman killed by a falling rock at a quarry in Tbong Khmum province has received $11,000 and funeral expenses in exchange for not filing a complaint against the firm involved, police said yesterday.

The company belonging to tycoon Lim Bunna was licensed to break rocks using explosives at the site in Tbong Khmum district’s Chiro 2.

On Friday, a rock hit the victim Kheng Samnang, 34, following an explosion, killing her instantly.

A Tbong Khmum district police officer said the case had been closed following extrajudicial compensation provided to the victim’s family. “The victim’s family agreed to accept compensation from the company in exchange for not filing a complaint,” he said.
