According to the hotel manager, the fire that started in room 410 of the Angkor Panoramic Hotel around midday was caused by a faulty electrical outlet in the room. He added that the damage to the hotel room includes one TV, 1 bed,1 lamp, furniture and windows. The hotel is French-owned and Khmer-managed.

When the fire broke out, the hotel management reacted quickly, calling the fire brigade and pouring water on the fire, which was extinguished before it could spread to other rooms. Fortunately, no one was hurt in the blaze.

Aren't French electrics generally shit too? It's not the same hotel that kid got electrocuted at a few months ago is it? You know, the one who touched a swimming pool light. It's only surprising it doesn't happen more often.

i heard a child was zapped by a light fixture in the swimming pool at the Golden Temple Hotel a month or so back, can goggle that and see the hotels response, and i am sure it happens lots more than reported as a few $$$ can make(in some cases) a story disappear.

I wouldn't bother trying to ask Temple Hotel/Group for an answer. They were the ones that got off scott free after the deadly fire at Hip Hop Club (twice).
And mysteriously the electrocution in the pool had very little press...almost as if they covered it up. Surely not.
