PHNOM PENH: Swiss national, Thomas Daniel Frischknecht (Thomas Frischknecht known as "Tom" or "Big Tom") 44 years of age, is reported to have become ill during the night and died in his home at Tang Sang Village, Sangkat Niroth, Khan Chbar Ampov. His wife called for an ambulance, but it was too late. The cause of death according to the police was a heart attack caused by heart disease.

Tom was born in Zurich, Switzerland on January 23, 1973, making him 44 years old at the time of his death.

Thomas Frischknecht had working as an English teacher at the Home of English school in Phnom Penh. His body has been taken to Stung Meanchey Pagoda to be prepared for a traditional funeral ceremony. RIP

Wonder why coppers didn't called it. A "crime scene" this time .,....

It's not so much paranoia, more the fact that most deaths that don't have an obvious cause here are put down as heart attacks.
Years back they used to blame this sort of thing on "dizziness" or "wind" so at least they are using proper medical terminology.

And In Cambodia every white guy does of a heart attack.

Very sad news, Tom was a nice guy. I met him almost 10 years ago during late nights out. A genuine heart attack most likely, as he was quite overweight even back then.

RIP.

People in their 40's die of heart attacks all the damn time. Especially if they are "big".

And usually the cambo authorities, if correctly translated with context, say something more like "death because of heart stopping", which is never untrue. . .

This is truly awful news. One of the best guys I ever met. Going to miss you, mate.
