Tourist files rape complaint
An Indonesian tourist has told police she was raped by a Nigerian who befriended her in Siem Reap province.
Provincial police chief of staff Chea Samoeun said the girl was on a bus trip from Vietnam to Cambodia.

The man, identified by local media as Esin Nyong John, 38, arranged to meet her at a bus station. He promised to bring her to a guesthouse and to show her around the temples after lying to her that he was a Cambodian national.

Instead of taking her to the guesthouse, he brought her to the room he rented and raped her there overnight, Mr Samoeun said. He said the girl did not shout for help because the man threatened to harm to her if she did not submit.
After the assault, the man fled and left the girl locked in the room.

Pov Chendareth, an officer at serious crime office, said police were still questioning the victim.

Not so easy after you throw a padlock on the door.

Hmm...She's Indonesian, he's Indonesian, yet she believed him when he said he was a Cambodian national? She doesn't recognise people of her own nationality?

I suspect she met him online (Facebook) where Nigerians perpetrate all sort of scams. I've seen some threads where Nigerians in Cambodia are recommending the place to others. If you tell a naive young woman online "I'll help show you around, I'll arrange a guesthouse for you" and then when she shows up you take her to your place, and she has no other accommodation booked and has no idea where she is, well I can see this happening.

I can also see him just claiming the sex was consensual and getting away with it.

The bottom line is that going anywhere with a Nigerian male living in Asia never ends well.
