Sex worker admits to thefts

A 17-year-old transgender prostitute was arrested yesterday after allegedly stealing a Samsung S7 phone worth $200 from a policeman who had arranged to have sex with her in Phnom Penh.

Daun Penh Military Police officer Ly Bunhong said the 38-year-old victim had driven his motorbike to the Wat Phnom area to find a sex worker.

He met the suspect, Sin Ta, who negotiated a fee of $40 for the night. Ms Ta then sat behind him on his motorbike as he drove towards a guesthouse in Daun Penh district.

“While the victim was driving the moto, the suspect picked his pocket and stole a Samsung S7 phone and a money bag, jumped from the motorbike and fled,” Mr Bunhong said.
The victim chased her on his motorbike and shouted loudly for help.
Hearing the victim, military police who were deployed nearby moved in and arrested the suspect...
