From SHV Expats FB page this afternoon. More information to come:
Otres 2, Elephant Garden and Bananas both on fire, fire truck on its way. Fire spreading really fast. Any customers that have lost their boungalows feel free to come by Naia Resort. We will help with dealing with embassy's and other logistic issues. Pass the word everybody.

Info from Facebook:The fire has been contained and is now over. At least five businesses have been destroyed. Bananas was saved.
Somebody said the fire was believed to have been started by a generator, and spread quickly because there was a lot of wind on the beach this afternoon. This is totally unconfirmed for the moment.

So far, no reports of anyone injured !!!
The neighbouring businesses on Otres 2 that were not affected by the fire have been rallying around to help out. Well done.

There is.
I'd bet none of the affected businesses have any though.
Insurance companies don't go out of their way to insure fire traps.

selling beer at 50cts a glass does not facilitate insurance
