At 12:40am 10 December 2016, 25yo Son Srey Leak, a hairdresser, was shot through the head at Sary Thom Guesthouse, Street 273, Sangkat Toul Sangkae, Khan Russey Keo, Phnom Penh. The victim was found bleeding on the bed and she later died on the way to Calmette hospital.

The victim and the suspect arrived by motorcycle at 12:20am, when they booked into Room 404. At 12:40 a gunshot was heard and a security guard went to investigate. During a confrontation with the suspect, the guard seized his radio and a helmet with an MP ID badge containing his photo : he was identified as Major Um Sopha, ID 199278, aged 30.


The couple were regulars at Sary Thom guesthouse, where they would rent a room a few times a month.
Police are hunting the suspected killer who escaped on his motorbike, a Honda PCX.

On Facebook there's a military commander of some rank offering a 20m ៛ /$5k reward for anyone who assists in his capture.

Unless it's just the ffwd rate of the video playing tricks, it appears she didn't want to go up, twice she kind of walks away from the guy, plus they're nearly opposite each other at the check in desk. Obviously they were already having a disagreement before they even got to the guesthouse.

Is the 20 Million reward for capture 'dead or alive'? Because some people will take that literally.

I think that offer is bogus unless she was a relative to someone higher up in the food chain.

According to guesthouse owner Sary Thom, 25-year-old Son Sreyleak was fatally shot in her right eye by her boyfriend – identified as Oum Sophat, according to an identity card attached to a walkie talkie he left behind – in Sary Thom Guesthouse on Saturday morning.

“Two staff rushed into the room after hearing the [gunshot] and saw the woman covered in blood . . . while trying to stop the man from running away, they got his helmet and walkie talkie,” Thom said. “The [walkie talkie has an] ID card that has his name and a photo that matches the suspect’s face in the CCTV footage.”
