Good job. Last time I went down Veng Sreng Boulevard the whole length of the new median was stacked high with garbage. That place is a fucking hell-hole.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

What, you mean the leftist wankers in parachute pants who blog about how much white guilt they feel for colonialism when they see an expat with a younger Khmer wife... and then demand sub-Khmer prices from a tuk tuk driver because Trip Adviser says it was $0.50 in 2006.juansweetpotato wrote:Mormons Vs Hippies. To the Missionaries (if you're reading this),
Any chance you could clean up Stinky Creek (Steung Boeung Trabek)?

And then, if you have time, you could try to educate the locals about waste disposal.
Cheers,

I've had a lot to do with backpackers and hippies in the past, and only recently come into contact with Mormons, as there are always several that live/rent just a few doors away in my street at Takhmau.juansweetpotato wrote:Mormons Vs Hippies. I'll take the Hippies thank you.
We all like to run down the lives of b/packers but my experience of owning a b/packers accommodation in NZ it was one of the greatest times in my life and I met many lovely and interesting people.
All the Mormons I have met have been pleasant , not pushing religion and have been well educated . With the training the get before they come to Cambodia, they arrive knowing much about Cambodia and most can speak the Khmer language.
Mormons Vs Hippies ? I'll take them both over some of the caravanpark trash Australians I have met.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

Nothing wrong with having a Gnostic soul.Leftist wankers?
Real hippies always wear a sarong. Lots of false hippies do too though. So be careful who your hitting.Parachute pants?
Let's never forget history if we can. But let's not dwell too much on it either unless their is a point to it.White guilt for colonialism?
Well, I think a hippie would be far more tolerant of people living their lives the way they choose than most out there, as long as it doesn't fuck up the planet too much. Including the trendy pretenders. Business men the lot. When they see an expat with a young Khmer wife?
Well in your scenario it does seem that they indeed would be a bit of a wanker. But so is the guy who pays way over the odds. There are a lot more of them around nowadays.Demand sub-Khmer prices from a tuk tuk driver because Trip Adviser says it was $0.50 in 2006.
Anyhow that's my In Defense of a Hippy. I'm sure your talking about another group entirely though which are commonly called hippies nowadays.

I can't disagree. By why only Australians? surely it's the type that offends?Duncan wrote:I've had a lot to do with backpackers and hippies in the past, and only recently come into contact with Mormons, as there are always several that live/rent just a few doors away in my street at Takhmau.juansweetpotato wrote:Mormons Vs Hippies. If they were serious about doing a proper job, they'd climb into their own refuse sacks at the end of the day and wait for the refuse folks to take them to the tip. Nothing worse than Jesus creepers except when they're Mormon Jesus creepers...
