Two Pedos Arrested for Child Trafficking in Battambang

Cambodia News (Battambang Province): An investigation was conducted into a case of child sex trafficking which occurred on July 9, 2021, in Svay Veng village, Komreang commune, in Battambang.
On July 13, at 14:00 pm the district police questioned a targeted suspect named Somreth Som, a 49-year-old man who was accused of child trafficking and sexual assault on a 13-year-old girl, C*** ***, also known as Teu.
The girl was lured by another pedophile and child trafficker named Sok Nov, a 56-year-old man, who drove her to the suspect's house and dropped her off there, where she was sexually abused and given 400 Bahts before being freed.
After the police interrogation, the suspect confessed that on July 9, at 21:00 pm he really committed the sexual assault and trafficking on the young girl with the help of the other suspect.

That was how I read it too,confess or we'll interrogate you again. I suppose there's always the chance they just pointed out how much evidence they had against the pedos though and they'd only be hurting their case by continuing to deny it.

The electric charge must have been a relaxing/comforting familiarity tactic, akin to a cigarette, coffee or seating them close to the door.
I think the MO of squeezing out a confession, here, is more like, "admit it or we will throw you around, throw you in the slammer until you do, then throw the book at you, and while we are in the throes of it, if you want this thrown out, you may be interested in making a donation to..."
