Those ''snatchers'' should have been where I was this morning. Standing in line at the checkout at Bayon S/market,, the overweight Cambodian lady in front of me opens her hand bag and pulls out a plastic bag which is full of wads of $100 notes. Let me take a guess and say $100,000.

Where can I learn to be a '' snatcher ''.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

Sorry to say this, but I think she would have knocked you down with her handbag and then sat on you for a KO. You would not have had time to flee. You probably would have been squashed to death, if you weren't already beaten to death by the other customers.
This is not a job with a bright future. Take up demining. Just my 2c. :hattip:

I haven’t been to Phnom Penh for 2 to 3 years but I am coming next week and I’m noticing on this and other sites what seems to be a huge surge in these types of incidents.
A lot of these seem to me unnecessarily exposing valuables and drawing attention to yourself.
But what about straightout muggings i.e. where you are not visibly carrying anything of value and yet you maybe stopped by 2- 3 people and threatened if you don’t hand over your valuables in your pocket or even worse you are threatened at gunpoint?
Is this type of crime happening in Phnom Penh yet and if so how often does it happen ?

@ obelisks...Straight up muggings like you described above are extremely rare. Bag/phone snatching's are common, especially during the lead up to holiday periods, but are easily avoided by using a little common sense.
