With cyber attacks making headlines weekly and the pandemic keeping many of us at home, it's a great time to read up on the topic. Came across a thread on Reddit listing dozens of book recommendations well matched for anyone with the faintest interest in the subject. Happily, many are available as audio-books, and most appeal to a wide range of both informed and just-getting-started audiences.

There is no defense.

Apparently the latest attack (the IBM attack), in addition cracking the bank servers for the name and passwords for the account, it also spoofs the individual phone number the banks call to confirm 2-factor authentication prior to authorizing transfer.

Truly scary stuff.

If I started reading that stuff I'd be depressed and paranoid worse than watching the news

...and if you really must use Google, Facebook and the like, use them in isolated browsers. There's a great Linux app called ICE which allows you to easily set up web apps in their own self-contained browser. :thumb:

I found the answer. I have no savings in my bank account, and the lurid photos of me with my sex doll are freely available on request...
