Maybe a mod could move the pc posts here? Please!

My first hard drive was an IBM 5.25" full height 10lb SCSI monster. A friend gave it to me, but I had to buy an Adaptec ISA SCSI controller and really expensive cable. The hard drive held a full 5 (YES FIVE) MEGABYTES (no, not bits, 8x more! Not kilo, 1024x more!) of data!
I could boot and run some programs WITHOUT swapping 3.5" 1.44MB floppies. It was heaven!

Ah, the good ol days.

I remember my first was a VIc-20..... I was young and couldn't afford an apple-II like they had at school.
5K and cassette ..... the memories .

Only useful thing I ever did with it was to rig a switch using aluminum foil on my door and wiring it to to joystick port to see if anyone entered my room (I was young).

When I was young I had one of the first computers ever invented . It could only do maths problems and I never needed to learn much about the latest computers.

Damn! You're ancient! :D In the mid to late 60's, my dad taught me:

After work and on weekends, he was allowed to bring home an earlier model of this

Ahh ... slide rules. Used them for only a year in school before this new fangled thing called a calculator was introduced. Both a blessing and a curse.

We still had log books. My mate at school was a rich cunt and had an IBM clone with the big red flip switch on the side. I just had a Spectrum. They sold them in Boots, the chemists.
