When the fuck are Microsoft going to fix this fucking problem with their "power plan". I just cannot set it up to do what I want. Leave my laptop for 1 minute and sleeping again requiring password again to access MS Edge.

Extend the display off and sleep time.

Seen this happen before when MS pumps out autoupdates. best thing creta a new power plan and set everything to never, then if the standard power plan gets reset it shouldn't affect you.Either that or use a toiol to shut down auto update. Another issue with windows on laptops from win 7 to early version of 10 is they wont start with battery. The problem is windows forgets the battery and uses the wrong driver. Answer is remove the battery, start up on mains. Go to device manager, battery and reinstall the drivers. Shut down, reinstall battery. that's worked on 3 laptops so far when the shop wanted to replace an $80 battery

Yes. You can do it with policies on pro. I tried win 10 for a while but it was too snoopy and broke too many drivers so I went back to win 8 which is marginally better. I assume if you got home it a legit version? You could upgrade to pro far more stable and secure (hah, funny word for Microsoft) than home which is basically just datamining you to deal, especially with that Microsoft edge crap

Laptop been on over 1 hour now and still not sleeping after having changed all power options to " never ". So seem that the problem is with the timer in power option. Something for M.S to look at.
