Sony Experia M - Boot Loop...
I was trying to unlock my Sony phone and now it's stuck in a Boot Loop.
I don't think it's bricked, yet...
Anyone "know a guy, that knows a guy'"?

One of the mods on this forum is meant to be a bit of an android geek. He is certainly one I go to when I have phone issues.
On a good note. I believe it's near impossible to brick a phone these days without smashing the circuits.
Can you boot to recovery?

I think you need to hold the power button and the up volume button. This should take you to the recovery menu and you should be able to restart or boot up from there.

^ haven't used it recently, but isn't that the combo for screenshot? Or is that power and volume down?

I can't remember to be honest. I haven't used a sony for over a year.
It might be power button, middle button at the bottom of the screen and volume up at the same time.

Doesn't come with a recovery install.
But I got CWM on it now (used Flash Tool for Sony or something like that)... and now will try to install Cyanogenmod.
I think I've got it sorted.
Thanks.

hmmm... installed cyanogen mod, than wifi and phone number weren't working.
Installed some firmware for the Radio and now wifi works, but no phone number; Cellcard installed an app on my phone before, perhaps I have to go there and get the to do it again??

Re: Sony Experia M - Boot Loop...
Finally got it to work tonight, I put alot of hours into it... to finally find the right rom combination.
Getting the baseband radio firmware correct was difficult.
But after trying Cyanogen I knew that I could live with it.
Goodbye Corporate bloatware!!!
Fuckers.
Sell you a phone, but try to own the conversation.

I had to install a recovery because Sony doesn't come with one.Digg3r wrote:One of the mods on this forum is meant to be a bit of an android geek. He is certainly one I go to when I have phone issues.

I had to install so many ROMs to find the correct combination cuz I guess Cyanogen mod doesn't have Radio Firmware for all phones but takes it from your stock rom, but my stock ROM didn't work. Eventually upgraded to Android 4.3 then it wasn't a problem.
Thanks for the advice though.
You saying it's impossible not to brick a phone helped me out, cuz I wasn't scared to keep trying...
