urgent: keyboard not working

since yesterday my kb is giving me trouble. i use an external for the laptop.
it works sometimes but mostly not. any idea what to do?

could it have gotten wet from condensation? like ac to outdoors and raining repeatedly?
if so, some of the keys will work others not and or intermittently.
try putting it in direct sun for a few hrs. take the battery out so any moisture can escape.
on no account open the case and try to look for the problem.

my old kb was so i use an external for the past yr.
i suspect something is wrong with the laptop.

Is the external keyboard Bluetooth, wireless or cable? If it's either of the first two, check the battery, even if it's rechargeable.

maybe a broken cable. i ll check at the store
2 hrs later: it was the cable. new keyboard and back to work
