Looking to have IP network cameras installed on the outside of my property. Do any readers have experience of this in terms of:

- best go-to company fitter
- best type of cameras
- costs

Thanks

Make sure you change the password lol, there's absolutely untold amounts of IP cameras that you can look in to and control right now, I even cover laptops webcam. "Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't after you"

My webcam is plugged in and not currently behind a VPN - have a go.

Seriously though there are so many sites with unlocked cams for anyone to view, most people don't secure them properly. I'd just say to take precautions if you're using them because so many people / businesses don't

Ok, well here's a serious answer but probably not the answer you're looking for.

I would install Linux on a PC, then install Zoneminder. It's free, open-source. https://zoneminder.com/
Next go to a few shops and find suitable cameras for outdoors (that will work with zoneminder). Wireless would be better as there would be less cabling required.

DIY.
