Chiang mai

Do you have a Cambodian trip report you want to share? Post it here, and feel free to link to your blog if it's a travel blog for Cambodia, South East Asia, or anywhere really. You can ask and answer questions about travel advice in Cambodia or just share your pictures and videos with us. Most people who live in or visit Cambodia have also checked out nearby countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, and you can get to most of these countries by traveling overland, so put any travel plans, reviews or questions here. Discussions about dirt bike trails in here as well.

Anybody live or visit here recently can advise what to do and what to avoid ?
Sister and her 12 year old daughter visiting in August - want to give the heads up on the worst offending tourist traps

Been there a number of times; the most recently in March this year.
In the city (within the moat) you might want to visit a few wats, some of them are quite nice.
- Wat Phra Sing
- Wat Pa Tao
- Wat Chedi Luang
Sunday Walking Market on, err, Sunday. Ratchadamnoen Rd, that's the road into CM from Thae Phae gate.
Rent a motorbike and visit Doi Suthep, avoid the Hmong village, that's a tourist trap, imo.

Visit the highest mountain of Thailand, Doi Inthanon, about 70 km from CM, nice and cool and a very nice drive. Don't expect much of a view, as it's usualle clouded & misty up there, but well worth the trip. When we visited in March we did so in a rented car, Toyota Vios, 1200 baht.

Enjoy!

i dont really care for CM, do busy an traffic is bad and the haze is terrible
