Air Asia is selling flights to and from Australia starting June 1.
Every flight has the notation "selling fast"
There is not a snowflakes chance in hell that these flights will happen according to Oz's no 1 authority on when australian borders will open - the Chief Medical Officer.

I am not one who has ever done more than minor grumbling about Air Asia - they have been fantastic for a perennially broke bloke like me. But this is beyond the pale.
A desperate grab for cash flow when they know perfectly well these flights will not happen.

Scam scam scam Warning (in flashing lights)
They must be going bad, to pull a blatantly dishonest scam like this.

"Tourism Minister Simon Birmingham says there are no guarantees international flights will resume by December."

"Even though Professor Brendan Murphy, Australia's chief medical officer, said this week that international travel should not resume sooner than in "three or four months", travel health specialists believe it could take longer, raising serious implications for the survival of both inbound and outbound tourism operators."

"Professor Adam Kamradt-Scott, who specialises in global health security and international relations at the University of Sydney, said that Australians need to be prepared to postpone overseas travel for at least the next six months, meaning that overseas travel beyond New Zealand may not resume to any real extent until 2021."

I wonder what sort of take up they are getting, hard to believe a significant number of travelllers are prepared to take a gamble so heavily stacked against them, especially re Australia where the vibes from the authorities are amongst the most negative re normal international travel resumption.

Virgin Australia have already gone bust,Even the biggest of the airlines will go bust,so buying tickets now is not a good option as you will lose your money also taking the credit for tickets already bought is a bad option.

Note well the flying conditions in their recent email:

While we are doing this, we also need your cooperation with the following to ensure that you have a smooth, memorable journey with us:
- First and foremost, it is your responsibility to ensure that you are eligible to travel, be it international or domestic before booking a flight. Please refer here to check on travel restrictions and special requirements.

In other words, the onus is on you, not them.

They're raising funds because they're bleeding money. Buy at your own risk...

Qantas is advertising flights from June also, are they also selling fake flights to get $$ hope not, and the warning about being able to fly you need permission to fly out of Australia if an Aussie plus need to make sure you can get into the country your going to, it's not the airlines problem to sort that out for you

Air Asia just won't be as much fun if they're not blocking the aisle the entire flight peddling those stupid noodle cups and toy airplanes. It was a 1-hour flight to Khon/Udon and a 2-hour flight to Hing Kong and very unpleasant.

They are still advertising flights but you still cannot transfer though airports so yes money grab I think.
Seems everyone is trying to get their hands in the pockets of people desperate to get home to loved ones.

Air Asia has been selling tickets for the DMK-PNH since the closure.

First they sold tickets from April 15th, then May 1st, then June 1st and now July 2nd.

Why they (and other airlines) are allowed to sell non existing services without the obligation to refund if the service is not provided is beyond me.
