Do you have a Cambodian trip report you want to share? Post it here, and feel free to link to your blog if it's a travel blog for Cambodia, South East Asia, or anywhere really. You can ask and answer questions about travel advice in Cambodia or just share your pictures and videos with us. Most people who live in or visit Cambodia have also checked out nearby countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, and you can get to most of these countries by traveling overland, so put any travel plans, reviews or questions here. KILLING CAVE OF KHMER ROUGE

Post by MrB »

This is the closest I have been to hell, descending into the earth to see a site where over ten thousand people were brutally & violently murdered, including many children. The skulls of some still gaze out at this 'killing field' of the Khmer Rouge.

I had visited these caves around about 7 years ago, via an invite from friends, and at the time I was living in Battambang.
In general I enjoy mrB's videos, but I would say more on the subject of the temples that he visits and films. This one is obviously a different context about the genocide, the killing of Cambodia's people by that of it's own. In the video mrB compares the location has a scary place on par with the death camps of the 2nd world war in Europe, also he emphasises on the stairs leading down to the cave where victims "mostly women and children" we're led blindfolded to their deaths, As far has I understand about the killings at that site, the victims were bludgeoned above the cave where the body then fell down a shaft into the cave below.
Always "hope" but never "expect".
