Bavet guest houses?

Bavet guest houses?

Post by Smedley »

I’m in PP. I need to get to HCM early in a few weeks so was thinking of staying in Bavet the night before, but I can’t find any reasonably priced guest houses near the border when I search the booking sites. Additional googling reveals a lot of murders and kidnappings at some guest houses and casino hotels there.

Does anyone know of any safe, clean, cheap guest houses in Bavet a short walk from the border?

All these gambling towns are dangerous no matter what border they are on. Also cheap places tend to be busy with people on short trips. Last time I went by bus it was 9 hours plus an hour at the border. I would spring for the flight

Bavet, Pailin and Poipet are absolutely not dangerous. If you stay for the night just go into a local guesthouse. You can usually not find them on booking sites.
Stay away from casinos and local gangsters.

Why stay in Bavet? Bus takes 6hrs PP to HCMC. Catch the 7am and you're there by lunch

Never heard of anybody who made it in 6 hours. I mean your waiting a long time at some restaurant in bavet, then your in that horrible building where it is extremely hot if I remember that correct. Then all that traffic leaving PP and entering HCM.

It does take 6 hours. I know cause i did.
Now you heard about someone who did.
Plane is better though, and lost time in Bavet is better spent in HCM.
