It's been on the F1 calendar for next year since the season started. The F1 suits think that Asia is the market that they want to crack, as there has been a little talk about exploring other Asian countries for GP's, as well as possibly an Indian GP. They can't extend the season much, so I guess there may be some higher profile European casualties in the next few seasons.

As a heads up, if you don't like F1 and you don't like crowds, Hanoi will be full from 2-5 April 2020.

HANOI, 21 October 2019: Asian Trails has secured deals on race tickets and accommodation for the first Formula 1 Grand Prix in Hanoi, Vietnam, 3 to 5 April 2020.

The Asia-wide destination management company released Formula 1 Grand Prix packages during the ITB Asia last week.

Downtown Hanoi will be transformed into a Formula 1 street circuit, and Asian Trails Vietnam has secured various deals with suppliers valid during and after the first week of April next year.

Appointed as one of the official ticket resellers for this historical sports event in Vietnam’s capital, Asian Trails provides tickets, land transfers and accommodation at competitive rates.

Hotel rates are rising fast for stays in Hanoi during the race week, which will attract fans around the world.

Rooms and suites in the city are filling up fast as the dates draw nearer, and this is prompting hotels to raise rates.

Asian Trails Vietnam presented its Formula 1 Grand Prix in Hanoi, Vietnam packages for the first time at ITB Asia.

The main race will be held 5 April with training and qualifying on 3 and 4 April. The race itself covers a 5.5 Km city circuit with 23 turns designed by Hermann Tilke.

Asian Trails’ package covers three days and two nights in a three-star hotel in Hanoi.
The USD880 price tag per person (USD170 single supplement) includes accommodation, a premium grandstand ticket for race and qualifying rounds, transfers by private vehicle and a Hanoi city tour.
