Was first there like 13 years ago. Was nice.

Now it's busier. Vang Vieng is almost unrecognizable since the foreigners have taken over. Still lots of nice stuff to see and do.

One of my favorite places is Luang Prabang. Very laid back, great food and Beer Lao. Avoid the monk feeding though, it is a circus.

1 month visa on arrival apx $25-40 depends on ur passport
have driven allover, (some places roads worse than Cambodia), great landscapes, people and food good.

Luang Prabang is nice but not sure i'd want be there in the high season, Vientiane great food and evening walks along the river but not much to do, Beautiful views in Vang Vieng but not the party scene of before
Phonsavan,(plain of jars), Quiet Muang Sing

Looks like it must have changed a lot since I was there 10 years ago. had the worst beef burger in my life in vientiane and everything shut at 9 except I think a bowling alley outside of town. Blokes with beards wearing dresses popping around town on motorbikes at night and huge signs in the hotel saying no ladies in the rooms. 1 lady abr i think i remember.

i was there early 2013 and it seemed nice, has it changed much since then?

Still am. But I am going to Laos first as I have never been. Then I will be coming to Cambodia to put myself in the ground.

I have been thinking about a trip to Laos for many years now.

I really, really want to see the Plain of Jars.

Maybe it's time to stop thinking and start doing.
