Not a single beach in Thailand or the surrounding region has made it into the “Top 25 Beaches – World” by TripAdvisor, announced today (March 2).
Claiming top spot was Grace Bay in Providenciales, in the Turks and Caicos Islands, followed by Baia do Sancho at Fernando de Noronha in Brazil in second place. Third place went to Varadero Beach in Cuba.
Bournemouth Beach weighed in at No. 14, with not a single Phuket, Phang Nga or Krabi beach ranked in any of the subsequent 11 slots.
In detail, Bournemouth Beach, located on England’s southern coast, boasts a 4.5-star rating garnered from 7,170 reviews, of of which 68% rated the beach as “Excellent”, 26% rated the beach as “Very good” and 4% rated the beach as “Average”
Only 1% rated the beach as “Poor” with another 1% rating the beach as “Terrible.” Top among the comments posted by visitors to Bournemouth Beach was “clean”, “golden” and “lovely” sand.
The Phuket region did fare well in the “Top 25 Beaches – Asia” rankings, with three Phuket beaches in the Top 25.
However, besting Phuket was Phra Nang Beach across the bay in Krabi, which placed fifth in the Asia ranking, followed by Nai Harn Beach, on Phuket’s southwest coast, placing seventh.
Karon Beach in Phuket placed 11th in Asia, while Kata Noi Beach, just a few kilometres to the south of Karon placed 13th. – Trip Advisor

Re: "Top 25 Beaches - World": Ratings from TA 2018
Impressively, Sihanoukville was rated bottom in National Geographic's 99 Coastal Destinations Rated. This dates from 2010.
Cambodia: Sihanoukville
99 Coastal Destinations Rated: Bottom Rated
20 October 2018
Score: 38
Cambodia's premier coastal resort "has some serious issues to address in terms of sustainability," including corruption involved in development decisions, poor waste management, and "a low aesthetic of the built environment."
Here is a representative sampling of additional anonymous comments from the panelists. They are not necessarily the views of the National Geographic Society:
"Sewage treatment is nonexistent, and the building code lacks sustainability standards. While a draft-zoning plan designed to protect marine biodiversity and encourage appropriate forms of tourism development was prepared three years ago, it has not been implemented. Short-term profit dominates virtually all activity."
"The coastal region is largely undeveloped due to 40 years of economic and social instability and devastating conflict. This is set to change rapidly. Land speculators have bought up or expropriated large tracts of the coastline, displacing the local population and small-scale tourism development."
"Tourism has given many local people jobs, but there appears to have been little local community engagement in sustainable tourism planning. Political and military elites have secured most prime beachfront land. Tourism development has not incorporated traditional Cambodian architectural styles."

Karon, Kata,Nai harn are where all the people that post of TA stay, so thats the reason they rank well.

This is one of the most worthless polls UNLESS ur a TA Follower.

In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

I'm glad they only included one beach in Africa. Keep the trash away for a bit longer.

Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

Only cold if you dont wear something. Surfing wet suits are in fashion and have been for years.
Wear something like this.
