Have you tried Russian food yet? HAPPY WORLD restaurant just reopened in a new location in Sihanoukville.Perfect place to try Russian food on a budget. All mains about $2-5. Last meal we had there was the meat casserole $4.50 and a salad $2.50, which was enough for two people and some to take-away.
You can also get pissed for cheap - cocktails are all about $2, draft beer 2500r. Small unpretentious place run by two (friendly) Russian women, and a menu in photos to help you choose. Open 4pm- 1am. Close to Starcrown football stadium, between Golden Lions and downtown.

Same for me.! These ignorant, arrogant people have set up shop right across from our apartments. It's a residential area with only GH's, apartments, khmer houses and smaller Khmer rented units on a >4m road. They have children (not their children) going in and out of that place all day. I'm sure that is innocent but they said that about Michael Jackson. They have had complaints as the kids also play in front of their place and get in the way of the traffic. I heard one had got ran over some time back. Where are the kids parents?
The girls that run the kitchen, maybe mother and daughter seem ok but the lads that live there and their visiting friends get pissed nearly every night and exhibit typical extra loud Russian conversations, shouting, singing until early hours. Out on the beach is fine for this, but they obviously don't have money to rent there. Never once since they came in November (or bit before) have they said , hello or sorry for the noise, they couldn't give a toss!. They have a roof top which is open air, where they just when they want, put on their trance music. Hopefully as it's unguarded and a good height above the road, one of them will fall off soon!. They block the road with their sign and moto parking every day and night. Me and my neighbours have shouted down at them at different times, one Aussie living in our block on the same level as them has had enough and leaving soon because of this. Believe me if you not Russian don't bother using it!. I'm sure the immigration, business licence , WP and the so called police who are supposed to stop noise like this after 10pm don't know about them. Unfortunately the Khmers can sleep through anything and the commune leader couldn't give a toss. I believe in live and let live but get pissed of at being not able to hear my TV because of their din.

Looks like its around the corner from Monkey Marks Bar. On my way to another steak at Marks, I'll have a look for it. I wish the Russian Deli that was up by the big market in SKV would open back up.

No, its not Sin boy. As Sailorman said and as the map clearly shows, it's just around the corner from Monkey Marks.
Fourkinell, I reckon you can take comfort in the fact that that particular stretch of road seems to be a real death zone for barang businesses. The Mediterranean restaurant just up the road from it has been on the market almost since it opened ( and they are dropping the price asked week by week) and lets face it, much as we love Steve, Blind Beggar is a complete loss to.
I don't hold the same xenophobic view of Russians as Sin boy ( although I also like the Chinese and Germans, I find the "curry munchers" to be a particularly obnoxious race in general). I have some good Russkie friends here. But they all say that the food at Happy is shit, so I reckon it will be closed within a few months and you should have some peace and quiet again soon hopefully mate!

Yes, that Russian deli used to be just up the street from Samurda. My Russian neighbors are all very quiet and well behaved for the most part. Its the 60 Chinese now living in the compound behind ours and who walk to the beach via our road that are very loud. I am told these people (almost all young) were brought in to do some kind of internet gambling scam at the Marina Casino up the street. BTW/ Monkey Mark's seems have made it just fine on this business killing back street.

I think SinnSisamouth was referring to the location of the deli, not Un happy world!

Has gone a bit quieter in Little Moscow household, I think some words may have been said by locals, maybe the ones trying to get their big cars past the sign and parked motos. Maybe their excitement has worn off due to dwindling numbers of bums on seats?
Yeah been a few small catering business come and go. The one up the street, Nomads, not sure what that was/is about! Only Mama's shop has stood the test of time. Maybe because Jerry the son in law owns the guesthouses and a generally nice guy who's always welcoming folk to sit outside and drink. And it is Khmer, never got to big and optimistic with decor LOL
Blind beggar has a few followers but heard the wife can be a bit scary towards customers and baby crawling around the floors of a bar not best of ideas. Steve can be a bit over laid back too, but keeps on going. I know he has had offers on this place but refused, maybe not the soul owner or money backer. Not a bad spot though if made more pleasant inside! :beer3:
