Well I finally decided to try the new Snookyville KFC. The first time I went I got the chicken, mashed/gravy and coleslaw. The chicken was very dry with a thin tasteless coating (where is the spices?)(I threw half the chicken away) The mashed was like eating paste and the gravy with it was terrible. The small dab of coleslaw was the highlight of the meal, but that's not saying much.

I went back to try their Cheesebuger as I figured no one can screw up a burger. (Boy was I wrong!) There was no cheese, the paddy at some point in its life may have been near a cow, but more than likely it was what a cow leaves on the ground. (or maybe pseudo-beef byproduct.) It looked like something you would scrape off the bottom of your shoe. Also very dry/tasteless. There was a couple very small green things that could have been lettuce and a tiny red thing that in a past life could have been related to the tomato family.

If you want to waste your money, this is the place to go, otherwise give this place a pass. (Why couldn't we get a Popeye's Chicken place like the 11 in Singapore or the one at the Airasia terminal in the KL airport?) Good fried chicken can be had at the place that is on the right hand side, on main street going out of town, just before you go up the hill going north. (up the street from Charley Harper's Bar.)

BTW/ In the same building as KFC (Lucky Ocean market) is a small bakery with good meat pies, apple pie, etc.

Thank you SM for manning up and sacrificing your digestive system for the good of CEO readers. I think that going back for seconds was above and beyond the call of duty; some may even say it was foolish. "Fool me once, shame on you..." as they say in the US.
I will try the other chicken place sometime since you recommend.

The Pies are made made and sold by Thida who has the coffee shop in Lucky Ocean very good savoury and sweet pies and deserts. . Thida and Mark her husband used to have Thida's Bar & Restaurant near Golden Lions opp the Casino.

The burger at KFC was a couple dollars and really not worth it. You would think an America based company couldn't screw up a burger. Wrong!

In general for KFC in KOW you have to be selective. It can be a low cost, high protein meal if your skint. Get the original chicken breast and be prepared to wait up to 20 mins for it. The smash and gravy is a KFC staple all over the globe. You could get one piece of chicken, one rice and a bottle of Mountain Spew for $2 on special a while back. The chicken can be surprisingly good if your lucky to get it fresh. Also they have this weird sauce that I like. The coleslaw was the most disappointing for me, unless you like transparent mayonnaise. When I had no money it was a life saver as I never got sick from it. Also hard to get a big piece of chicken for $2 in PP.
SNV is a harder market as good clean food for around $2 can be found almost everywhere. A veritable feast can be had for around $2 on the hill for instance.

After you have been living in PP a while you can find yourself drinking 3 in 1 coffee and enjoying KFC. Never really touched either of them before I moved here. Luckily I have had a bit more cash lately and haven't been in a KFC for a while now preferring to cook my chickens at home.

the KFC at the central market in Hua Hin (Thailand) is decent been there quite a few times!
