Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): 18 November 2022 - The Top 30 Bar Awards, which originated in Malaysia, will take place for the first time in Cambodia in 2023, to recognize a quality bar that is worthy of a trophy and reward talented bartenders.

The Top30 Bar Awards, which originated in Malaysia and celebrated its first awards event in 2022 with the aim of celebrating the country's best bars and bartenders, aims to be a platform that will enhance the standards and reputation of alcohol bars and the industry as a whole in Cambodia. This is a great opportunity for Cambodian bars and their talented bartenders to gain recognition and popularity in the local and international markets. (!!)

Cambodia's Top30 Bar Awards 2023 will begin with a nomination of about 150 bars from all major cities in Cambodia. And then only 100 bars will be selected by a panel of judges assigned by the sector to determine the final 50 bars. The finalists will then be evaluated continuously until they get into the top 30, all of which will be presented at the awards party.

Cambodia's Top30 Bar Awards Gala will be held at the Sofitel in March 2023, with about 400 participants, including bar owners, bartenders, family members, artists and journalists.

Yes, but it's not Anchor though!

I've frequented a few times, and even eaten there, and was unimpressed after all the hype. It's just a bar with a load of miserable old gits in it (plus one more), and maybe one cute chick.

They'll just automatically give all the awards to all the poshest most expensive hotel bars and one or two high-rise rooftops, passing by the nitty-gritty places hidden up alleys in Bassac or wherever.

its where a lot of brits (plus others) hang out early evening and has the nostalgic "local boozer" atmosphere that the pubs have back in England, i suppose if youre not british or dont know anyone there the atmosphere might not be quite the same, but espeshially on a friday, its busy and has a good british pub atmosphere with lots of banter
