Pizza chain Papa John’s enters Cambodian market

US-based pizza chain Papa John’s International has entered the Cambodian market, with its flagship store opening in Phnom Penh last month.

The chain is seeking to expand its global presence and plans to open 15 new restaurants in the country over the next three years.

Papa John’s International chief operating officer Jack Swaysland said: “This is a very exciting time for Papa John’s. We are thrilled to deliver our delicious pizza and food to new customers in Cambodia.”

Papa John Cambodia franchisee Peter Xu was previously a successful franchisee of the chain in New York City, US.

Commenting on the development, Xu said: “We are very excited to bring Papa John’s global brand to Cambodia. Papa John’s Cambodia’s team is truly passionate about pizza. With our ‘Better Ingredients. Better Pizza.’ promise, we look forward to providing local pizza lovers with quality products and outstanding services.”

It's bog standard fast food pizza, nothing to write home about. They had a change of management that has lots of big ideas and concepts like far flung international expansion. It's a meme too because of some American comedians and the former owner.

I can't in good conscience, defend American chain food. You guys win.

Chain pizza is not good. Papa J's is one of the worst chains.
