Draught Beer in Cambodia
I used to avoid draught beer because it always gave me a headache, even just two glasses would do that. Now I find I can drink six or seven with no ill effects (Cambodia is my favourite for taste). I assume the brewers have stopped using something nasty in it.
Also I get a lot less drunk compared to drinking cans or bottles so I get less of a hangover. And it is more green (in recycling terms). And it is cheaper.
I have been told the alcohol strength is 3% compared to the 5% of cans and bottles.
Most bars sell it in the $1 to $1.50 range. I understand that a busy bar will have a cost price of about $0.25, taking into account brewery promotions, so they can make a decent mark-up.
A few bars take the piss, however. Route 136 charges $2.50 and Secrets charges $3. Shame on them. Even Hard Rock only charges $2++.

I agree. If a place has to charge too much for draught beer to make a quid then I avoid them. There are enough bars in town to be choosy for both girls and drinks. If you want to make a quid you have to be competitive. If you overcharge they go to the next place. Same deal with a couple of bars tried to charge $15 for bar fine.

I have noticed some bars are now charging $2 for draught so they have to go on my black list too. Namely Air Force and 69.
Also, I do prefer Cambodia, and well kept. Sharkys does a very good glass of Cambodia for $1.50. Larry's ditto. Shanghai also good, same price.

Airforce and a few others charge $4 for a Brunties too when you can get it for $2.50 elsewhere (Dragonfly on 130 was one, but i think that may have gone up to $3 now)

Re: Draught Beer in Cambodia
Actually I often drink more than one!
50 cents is a 33% mark-up over the place that charges $1.50.
As Arget rightly says, all these bars offer a similar product so why spend money in one that charges 33% more?
Oddly, the bars that offer a noticeably better product, eg better furniture, toilets, are rarely the ones that charge higher prices. Think of jah stueu's bars on 130 or Larry's - they all charge $1.50.

I'd blacklist anywhere selling draft for more than $1.50. Considering some places can make a profit selling it at $0.50/$1 I don't think there is any reason to sell it at $2. Don't mind paying $2 and upwards for something a bit better, like an Indochine/Kingdom wheat-beer etc but for cheap swill like Cambodia/Angkor it is taking the piss a little

I lived six years in Germany; you can't fool me. There is no draft beer worthy of that name in the KofW. Nor do the expressions "well kept and clean" begin to describe any local watering holes.
As my old Cajun bait seller used to say, "I opes you luck.

The best beer I ever tasted was on tap in a brewery near Graz in Austria,
