CHRISTMAS PUDDING DELIVERED
Nary’s Dishes - Christmas Puddings in 2016:

The same high quality as always – can be delivered (see below).

• Standard Pudding: 700 g. > 6 - 8 servings. Cost: $15 US.
• Medium: 350 g. > 3 - 4 servings. Cost: $8 US.
• Small: 175 g. > approximately 2 servings. Cost: $4 US (special order only).

Discounts for bulk orders (at least 5 standard puddings = $13 each).

Packaging: Ceramic bowl with baking parchment cover tied with strong cotton string. String handle, for convenient movement when needed (e.g. removal from steamer).

Reheating: Puddings have already been cooked by steaming in their packaging. They can be reheated in the same way (steam in a steamer for 1 - 1 ½ hours), or: microwave. See your microwave instructions for timing, removal of baking parchment cover, etc. If you leave parchment in place, pierce it to avoid build-up of scalding steam.

Brandy (or Rum) Butter: Can be supplied on request: 150 g, $5.

NB: Christmas Puddings contain suet, so are NOT SUITABLE FOR VEGETARIANS.

• Ordering: please email [email protected] or [email protected] , or call (or SMS): 012815585.
• Contact: Please leave a contact phone number and/or email address + street address.
• Collection/Delivery: Puddings can be delivered within Phnom Penh or collected (map available). Nary’s will contact you to make arrangements.

If anyone does find out where you can get suet in this country, please keep me informed, too. Can't make a decent steak and kidney pie without a suet pastry crust. Not seen anything like Atora here.

So... Two years later, has anyone managed to track down suet? I considered making it but seems like a bit of work separating all the connective tissue etc and it needs to be fresh enough in the first place.

I’ve a hankering for a steak & kidney pudding

Edit: mods. in hindsight I probably should have started a new thread as the title is completely irrelevant, please feel free to split off if needed
