What is the most genuine. Not necessarily with dog carcasses behind the building.
A real Margarita
Corn Totilllas
Beans that have been cooked on premises not from can.
garlic & cilantro
etc., etc., etc.

Good post. I know there are restaurants that serve Mexican food, but since I only come to PP once a month, they're always at the bottom of my list. So, I'd like to add two related questions to this post.

1). Is there a bakery(not grocery store) where I can buy corn tortillas, preferably burrito size ?

2) Is there a place where I can buy jalapeño seeds. I miss this food plus my kids love it.
Thanks

I have not seen any soft corn tortillas around town in supermarkets.
flour tortillas at thai huot, though easily made at home
masa harina from LSH

Thanks Frank, it looks good. I really suck at making tortillas; they always look like giant amoebas undergoing mitosis. Any tortilla presses in town and does anyone know where I can get jalapeño seeds?

Same same here. Could also patch tubes with. Or flip-flops.

alma was started by some Mormons from Mexico. they had all that "church food" dessert like red velvet and german chocolate cake like you see in southern usa church potluck dinners.
it has changed hands so now you can get a beer there.
portions are kinda small but it is authentico

a lot more bland but passable is Viva on riverside. they treat the refritos like gold - side order only and it is measly so order 2.
