Vintage Yellow Fever: Books and Movies
Recent chat here got me thinking about some great books and movies that depict western male expats in Asia with Asian women. I'll share my faves and you can add on.

the classic:
not exclusively about the ladies

not exclusively about the ladies

My all time favorite Asian authoress... Here are two romances, the first set one set in Malaya...(under the British).

My favorite is her serial "autobiography", about growing up China, which comprises several books that trace her family history and personal experiences within the context of modern Chinese history and culture. The series includes The Crippled Tree, A Mortal Flower, Birdless Summer, My House Has Two Doors, and Phoenix Harvest, covering the years 1885 to 1979... It's a fascinating read, with incredible details about China that you simply can't find anywhere else ...

Perhaps the best of the novels set in Thailand (1950s)
