exchanging old AMEX travellers cheques in Bangkok

I just recently found around 2K in old AMEX travllers cheques in USD. No italian bank in my area would accept them. There is a lenghty process to claim them online/offline so I thought to give it a shot in BKK first where i had successfully cashed many such cheques in the past 20 years.

Tried my luck in BKK today. Gooogle saying that SCB would take them. Been to 3 branches the young staff mostly even did not know them at all. Same at Kasikorn , TMB.

Has anyone cashed such a cheque recently (2024) in BKK?

Might be worth going to the office of the Amex Thai Co. Ltd and asking them directly. Looks like it's quite near Ari BTS. Not open at weekends.
