https://thethaiger.com/hot-news/politic ... onal-courtThe Future Forward Party is bracing itself for, what they expect, will end up in the disbandment of their political party when the Constitution Court meets tomorrow. Over the weekend the party’s secretary-general Piyabutr Saengkanokkul denied accusations that his party is trying to overthrow the Thai regime, an allegation made by Dr. Natthaporn Toprayoon, a former advisor to the chief ombudsman.
Speaking at a seminar at Thammasat University Rangsit Campus over the weekend, “Future is Now”, Piyabutr fired back claiming that the “ones who are trying to target them with these kinds of accusations were those who had violated the constitution.”

Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit isa 41 year old billionaire who was theasian to compete in a 560 km foot race above the Arctic circle.Thanathorn obtained a joint-honours Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in mechanical engineering from Thammasat University and the University of Nottingham He later pursued his interest in social and economic issues and obtained three master's degrees: one in political economy from Chulalongkorn University, one in global finance from Stern School of Business, New York University, and one in international business law from the University of St. Gallen. Despite his families enourmous wealth he was heavily involved in Friends of the People and the Assembly of the Poor andis firmly anti corruption. He is no doubt the best equipped to lead Thailand and thus the greatest threat to dear Uncle Tu.

Re: Future Forward prepare for probable disbandment by the Thai Constitutional Court
The newly-formed Future Forward Party and its charismatic young leader swept to power in Thailand’s 2019 elections winning 17% of votes—an impressive debut for a party that was barely a year old.
Young and urban Thais came out in force to support the new opposition party, which ran on a platform of curbing the military’s political power and ending the cycle of violent street protests and coups that has plagued Thailand for several decades.

Despite his disqualification from parliament, Thanathorn remains popular with voters. More than 31% of respondents in a December survey run by the National Institute for Development Administration said Thanathorn is the most suitable person to be the Prime Minister of Thailand. The current Prime Minister, Prayut Chan-ocha, got only 24% of the vote.

Re: Future Forward prepare for probable disbandment by the Thai Constitutional Court
I think it would be utter madness for the establishment to disband FFP. Given its core support is the younger generation you are removing any faint hope of their voice being represented, very dangerous move in the current climate and more likely to escalate things. Not sure FFP have any coherent economic strategy for the rural poor or any connection with that group, that's Pheu Thai's voter base.
I wonder if it was coincidental that we had the most militaristic display for many years overseen by the King in Bangkok on Saturday. The reason seemed to be fairly spurious, accession to the throne since May and some ancient regional victory..

Re: Future Forward prepare for probable disbandment by the Thai Constitutional Court
It must be remembered that the Kingdom of Thailand is an absolute monarchy already. Analysing the soap opera of the political system simply results in a distraction from this fact.
Saturday's military display was a pledge of allegiance to the monarchy in the form of the current king, which had not yet been officially conducted for the new reign.
