Good afternoon!
Coming to Thailand soon, spending 4 full days in Bangkok.

Be grateful for any fabulous suggestions of what's great and what's not so, please!

What's hot? I believe the Thai curries can be hot.

Thai red curry is pretty hot .

Sealife is great, you can see all sorts of sharks etc.

Bangkok is hot, pattaya is cooler

Aside from drinks on top of State Tower at night, Bangkok is way overrated.

While it can be fun once to take a river tour and see one of the many snake farms, dealing with the ripoffs from the tour guides just takes all the fun out of it. The crocodile farm out in Samut Prakan could be worth a visit if you are into things with big teeth. Another option is the Khao Kheow zoo in Chonburi (but you really need a car for that), and Safari World may be worth a trip. Dream World in Lamlukka is interesting solely for the astonishment of what passes as an amusement park in Thailand.

Temple wise, just pass. It's not worth it. After Angkor Wat anything Thailand has to offer just pales in comparison. If you really like temples though, take a day trip to Ayuttaya. It has a lot more to offer, and if you get a chance and money is not an impediment, the elephant stay up there is worth a day. Especially if you have a 9 year old daughter who is fascinated by animals.

For me, personally, when I visit downtown Bangkok, I much prefer walking around Chinatown and seeing what electronic parts and chemicals and lab supplies I can get. I mean, you might as well make your trip worthwhile having gone to all the effort to get there. Of course, you may prefer shopping for clothing instead. For that, you want to go to Bobae Market. That is where all the Thais go to buy stuff which they then resell to you at 3 times the price everywhere else in the city.

BTW, Bang Sue is just a stop away from Chatuchak market. If you are there over the weekend, Chatuchak Weekend Market can be an interesting diversion, and you can get your picture there next to the sign at the same time. Parts of Chatuchak are also open on Wednesdays.

The fun part is trying to get from where you are to where you want to be without turning intoagibberring wreck, either stuck in traffic or jammed like sardines ina train. Find the things you want to see and book a hotel nearby them and a trains station. its often way quicker to walk than take a train or a taxi

Wat Po is worth your while for sure.
I think comparing Angkor Wat to Bangkok is like comparing an apple to a piece of fried chicken.
The reclining Buddha is spectacular.
I guess you are a female.
I would of suggested you spend 4 days in Chiang Mai.
I have spent a lot of time in Thailand top to bottom and Bangkok is my least favorite by far.
That said, My Thai lady friend from Koh Samui loved to shop in Bangkok.
It is a lot easier to tell you things NOT to do.
Don't go to the floating market would be top of my list of touristy things.
