Re: Shortest international flight into Thailand?
Nope. It seems any obvious short international jumps like Penang- Hat yai or Vientane - Udon Thani go by way of a hub like KL, Singapore or Bangkok.Kung-fu Hillbilly wrote: ↑Thu Dec 19, 2019 3:01 pm Is Penang-Hat Yai the shortest international flight into Thailand?

I may be going to hell in a bucket,
but at least I'm enjoying the ride.

Re: Shortest international flight into Thailand?
The shortest/fastest seem to be around an hour's length.I just thought there may be a sneaky puddle jump somewhere to do a visa run if need be when I'm up that way soonish.
Kuala Lumpur (Any) - Hat Yai (Songkhla) (HDY) 1hr
Vientiane (VTE) - Bangkok (BKK) 1hr 10min
Luang Prabang (LPQ) - Chiang Mai (CNX) 1hr 10min
No direct Vientiane to Chiang Mai as far as I can tell.
Kl-Hat Yai is cheapest at $ 45.

It's operated by a prop, not a jet. Maybe it's the shortest when you count distance.
Re: Shortest international flight into Thailand?
Siem Reap to Bangkok is only 40 minutes.
Re: Shortest international flight into Thailand?
Why are you interested in the shortest? Even if you could go through immigration and check in straight away to come back you still have checkin time, immigration and security at each end which is going to eat 6 hours at least ona round trip. I thinks laos requires you to stay 24 hours. Not sure what Thai immigration require on avisa run anymore but it might raise an eyebrow there if you go comebackin one day

Thai /Cambodian land border sometimes requires a 24 hour stay in Cambodia or payment of 300 baht to the Khmer officialspczz wrote: ↑Thu Dec 26, 2019 12:10 pm Why are you interested in the shortest? no such requirement at other borders, ( except sometimes Sadao, Malaysia, but never Laos or Burma)
flying in, EXCEPT for SR airport which requires a 24 hr stay
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST
