PHUKET: A body, believed to be of one of the two missing Filipinos, has been found on the Freedom Beach in the resort city.
Pol Maj Ekachai Siri of Tourist Police Division 3 in the resort island said on Friday after being informed about the body, police started investigating and assumed it was one of the two Filipinos who remained missing.
Four Filipinos were reported missing on the beach on Wednesday evening. John Tanghal, 30, and Jose Tanghal, 51, were later found while Angelo Cortez, 29, and Noah Bay, 40 remained missing.
The four were with a group of 13 Philippine men who swam at the beach on Wednesday.
The search operations by authorities and rescue workers from Kusoldharm Phuket Foundation and Patong Bay Watch for the two others have been impeded by high waves, strong winds and heavy rain, rescue workers and police said.
