Kidnapped in Suvarnabhumi

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

Kidnapped in Suvarnabhumi

Post by Gardiguy »

"shortly after leaving the plane she was followed by four Chinese men dressed in black and one Thai woman."

"Shockingly, police said the gang received help from ten Thais – including a top immigration cop inside the airport"

Ya, real shocking that Thais could be corrupt 🤦🏽‍♂️

Random tourists don't get kidnapped at Suvarnabhumi. There's some serious monkey business going on there, I bet there's a backstory to it.

LOL "Shocking"? Not really considering you can get picked up at your plane gate and whisked through immigration by your own personal immigration cop for $15. Thailand is a third world dictatorship with extreme levels of corruption and underdevelopment. Everything and everyone is for sale.

Far from remaining monarchical, hierarchy-ridden subjects on the margin of civilization, Americans had become, almost overnight, the most liberal, the most democratic, the most commercial minded, and the most modern people in the world." - Gordon S. Another Chinese kidnap and extortion gang.

Happens in Cambodia too. This is from today.

For sure, there are Chinese gangs all over Asia that are exclusively targeting Chinese nationals overseas. I'm not sure if this is becoming more common in Cambodia, but it seems quite likely that this is the case, since there are more and more Chinese visiting Cambodia, and, particularly, the casinos. More pigeons attract more hawks.
Must be the same in Thailand I guess.

I meant my original post was sarcasm. As in, yes, I do believe that Thailand officials are corrupt af and could easily be bought off.
