Oh no ! You are thinking far too narrowly regarding the application of the Computer Crimes Act in Thailand. It’s not only about what you refer to by a long way and even George Orwell would never have imagined all this.
It can be applied in many situations. For example say I voice a complaint (which may be perfectly legitimate and involve 100% true facts) regarding the conduct of a Corporation in Thailand , I can still be sued for criminal defamation under the Computer Crimes Act. And if I write about this on Facebook and somebody clicks like regarding the comment, that too can be considered as part of the criminal defamation.

It is facebook's real-name policy that is untenable on the long run. Google has the same problem of fishing after too much user data to feed to their advertisers. That is 2 times half a trillion dollars in market capitalization that have no future in the form that they exist right now.

The truth is that we do not really need something like facebook.

If the type of forum like CEO modernize their software a bit (not even urgent), it would be equivalent in features. From there on, users will quickly figure out for themselves what forums they want to join, the collective of which would be equivalent to facebook, without having one, single master, controlling your one, single login, and who can cut you out completely of your entire social media life. Centralization is a reprehensible thing, and facebook is certainly a detestable example of that.

Since nobody forces anybody else to use facebook, and since excellent alternatives are available, users who get shot in the leg when using facebook, must be made to suffer dearly, so that others would be able to observe their suffering, and learn from it. Hence, the fate of Pol Captain Watcharin Benchanathasawat, using his real name at facebook, should set an example. As far as I am concerned, throw him from the 12th floor out of the window, or else burn him slowly at the stake.

“If even a single illicit page remains, we will immediately discuss what legal steps to take against Facebook Thailand,” Takorn Tantasith, secretary-general of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission, told reporters.
“Every person must comply with Thai laws, and strictly follow rulings by local courts,” Takorn was quoted as saying in the Bangkok Post.

The Thai Internet Service Provider Association (Tispa) says it is under government pressure to immediately shut down the all access to Facebook as early as Tuesday morning, over the social medium's refusal to take down every post dictated.
Tispa said it could disconnect the content delivery network (CDN) originating Facebook's server if the social media giant fails to meet Tuesday's 10am deadline set by the government to remove illicit URLs or posts from its site.
