and the jumping to conclusions start....

if my daughter was out at 4am in another country (least of all thailand who dislike farang already) on her own i would be dissapointed and equally angry

i was simply pointing out that it could have been avoided if she took some simple saftey steps

I agree, with what we know, things could have probably been avoided by not being there alone at that given time.

from a more entertaining point of view we all know that according to paragraph 1, " it is always the farangs fault".

paragraph 2 kicks in should paragraphg 1 not apply.
It basically states: " had the farang not been there it would not have happened" ...

There are plenty of places in Bangkok that I could imagine someone being out at 4am, but Taling Chan is not one of them. Apart from the floating market, what's there? While the morning is supposedly the best time to visit, 4am does seem a tad early! I think the Wattajak Building mentioned was the 38 story high rise which was put on hold years ago and never completed. Rumor has it that it was sold recently.

I can't help but wonder that if the victim had been a man who was mugged, or raped would those feminist hackles still have been raised. I think most posters would have agreed with. Sinn
Sisamouth's observation. Common sense can help prevent victimization.
