Sex, dating, marriage and latent racism? - POLL

Let's say you meet a beautiful girl (of any race), and you find her personality and just about everything else about her very much to your liking. You really like this girl. But you find out her last boyfriend was a big black guy. Maybe all her previous boyfriends have been black or maybe just one. Either way, does that in any way disqualify her as marriage material for you? Is that a deal breaker as far as marriage goes? Not dating or sex, just marriage out of the question?

If that aspect of her past is a deal breaker, does that make you a blatant racist, or is it just a socially-acceptable personal preference that you insist on for a wife?

I bring this up after reading in another thread that some barang told a Khmer girl that he wouldn't marry any Khmer girl who had previously slept with a barang man. He didn't say he necessarily wanted to marry a virgin Khmer girl, just a Khmer girl who never had a barang sex partner. It got me to think of a very lovely and sweet girl in my office who showed co-workers old pictures of herself on vacation with her previous boyfriend. After that, all the young guys in the office who used to drop by her cubicle and chat her up every day seemed to have lost interest in flirting with her. She used to have a queue of young lads lining up. I call it the curse of the black ex-boyfriend.

If they went black, they is never going back, is that what you is saying? I often hang out at a local beer shop with a few regular guys. Their attitudes towards any woman who puts it out are, let's say, far from enlightened.

I thought this type of discrimination would be more prevalent in somewhat older generations of men. I was a bit surprised to gleam the reactions I mentioned from such young guys in my workplace, guys in their early to mid 20's, who probably grew up worshipping black American music and fashion and sports stars much more than previous generations.

I don't even understand why it would be an issue for anyone, or even a factor for consideration.

Are you saying when it comes to choosing a wife and the mother of your children, you would never have any issues with the girl's sexual past or just not race? For some men it might not be the race of her former sex partners but the number of previous sex partners that is the deal breaker. I know a Jewish guy who will only consider marrying Jewish women who have previously only dated Jewish men in the past, as if dating outside the Jewish faith drastically decreases her suitability. So for him it's the religion of her former sex partners is the deal breaker. I doubt he is the only one.

I'm definitely not an expert or pretend to be, but I would bet of all places, in Japan a woman having slept with black guys would make her much less applealing to Japanese men. I think it's a somewhat common hang-up. But you're free to vote "YES" and we'll see how it polls.

Yes, that's what I am saying. I have no problem whether the mother of my children slept around with many partners of any race (dated those before), or none (married to one).

I think it's simply racism on a "human" or cultural level. Racism is shallow however. Yes, the one time I've been robbed what by a black person, but I don't consider all black people robbers, in the same way I don't consider all Japanese my own people.

I guess more relevant to the question, if someone had slept around with whoever, I'd want to know more about who the person was rather than what race. 10 Japanese drug dealers would be more concerning to me vs. 1 black professor of Physics.

The only way I can understand the question is by putting the word American or Australian somewhere in it. Even then.

I think your analogy sucks. I can understand why a barang or Khmer might not consider a Khmer girl as wife material if she has previously dated another barang. I think the Khmer guy may think everyone thought she was a prostitute and the barang would think she probably is a prostitute.
But I would have to consider them very narrow minded individuals if they did solely on that premise.

The Lucan's right. Once you've tried black, you never go back.

AE86, I typed my response wrong. If race is no problem for you your vote should be YES instead of NO. You might want to recast your vote.
