Replying to scam calls.

If you have something so weird, strange or off-topic to post and think it doesn't belong in any other forum; you're probably right. Please put all your gormless, half-baked, inane, glaikit ideas in here. This might also be a place where we throw threads that appear elsewhere that don't belong ANYWHERE end up, instead of having to flush them. FORUM RULES STILL APPLY.

Replying to scam calls.

Post by SternAAlbifrons »

I just got an SMS from a fake local number/ major bank i do not have an account with - fishing for my account details for "verification".

My response before i blocked the number
"Fuck off"

corrected immediately after with
"Sorry, should read... Fuck Off Dogs Penis.
Your God will burn you in Hell. That's his job"

Was that out of line?
How do you do it?

Yeah or give them fake details in the hope that if enough people do likewise it’ll draw the attention of the bank’s security team.

I like a good venting down the phone, but my doctor says that it’s not the best coping method.

Once I’ve identified such calls, and unless I need the phone to be available, I’ve often adopted the approach of
-putting the phone down without hanging up, and then go and make a cup of tea.
-When I come back with my tea, they’re either gone, or excessively persistent. In the latter case, I generally just hang up. It’s happened that some muppet has persisted for over 5 minutes! That was a live sales call, though.

I always follow such calls and texts up with quick block of the number.
