Politically-correct nursery rhymes (the 'Spectator' competition)

Not a terribly original idea but good up to a point ...

The competitions in the 'New Statesman' decades ago were far better -

FOR EXAMPLE:
take a news item (Nun-running*) and
write in the manner of Graham Greene ("He thought of their slender brown bodies...") and John Buchan
("I'd gladly take a sjambok to a swine of that kind!") but now the NS is edited by a man who truly believes
(or pretends to) that The Perfect Man ascended into Heaven on the back of a horse.

Times change and not always for the better

^Nun-running: It was reported - quite truthfully - that the Church of England was importing nuns recruited
by the Church of South India to be cooks and servants in Anglican convents
