Speaking of UNTAC, I've met several Cambodian men over the years who's parents actually named them Untac, took me a while to click, at first I thought it must have just been a common, regular Khmer name.

Yeah I ran into this ladyboy called Untac one night.
In photo #6, I've never seen guns like those in the pile which seem to have dinner plate style magazines. Any idea if they held a lot of rounds compared to the other style on the right, or am I looking at something else entirely?
It's funny how those mom and pop setups haven't really changed since that time.
Nice photos

Those are Degtyaryov AKA DP28 machine guns. The drum/pan holds 47/63 7.62 rounds depending on the variant. I'm not sure what you mean by the guns on the right, you mean the AKM/Type 56?

Yes, I do. I didn't realise on first glance the Degtyarov type pictured were so large. I had thought they were the same guns with different styles of magazines. Thanks.

This film about another UNTAC kid was very touching. I'm not sure where there's a full copy available, I saw it in a cinema.

Definitely one of the better posts I've seen here. Sorry I don't know how to or can't "like". I guess I'm too new.
