Hi All, Any advice for learning basic Khmer online? Favourite Youtube sites or other online resources.

No, I can't say that I have an online Khmer resource but please post here if you find something worthy, thank you. A lot of us here might be interested.

There are links with instructions here on CEO !
… also on myface , i even got a stack of cool books delivered from one of them
… but since i can’t learn it they must be all bad .

I think it’s a weird language and they should change it all together or just switch and speak thai here

The teacher guy Doc sent in is really good, a tad bit Yuon looking for a Khmer teacher but he's quite good, his pronunciation is easy for me to copy.

You get a free short trial lesson and if you don’t click with the teacher you can just pick another without any trouble.
Also unlike a lot of language schools I’ve used over the years, they don’t have hidden fees for teaching materials etc so the price on their list is the price you pay.

On the website you'll see it's 100$ for ten lessons if you study alone.

The written English of most teachers is pretty bad to be honest. They're lucky Khmer grammar is a lot easier than English grammar

When I came to Cambodia in 2009 I went to the nearest highschool and asked the director if I could talk to some of his English teachers. I asked them if they were willing to teach me Khmer, picked one, and studied one hour a day for a about one and a half years. I paid 2$ per hour if I remember correctly, but 2009 was a different era. At least it feels like a different era.

I am not fluent now, far from, but my Khmer is more than enough to manage daily life by myself.

For me, face to face learning is much more efficient than online.
