My wife's farm has two buildings side by side and one on the roadside. Simple two story structures look similar to others in the area. The village has one busy main road and a few side streets. All roads have recently been laid in asphalt for the first time. All the freeholds are adjacent to one another and pretty much equal sized plots. There's a strong feeling of community on this road. My wife's parents bought this land and over twenty years have slowly built it up and improved the buildings to the point now where they have paid off the bank loan and are in the black. They now own several cows, motorbikes, a shop, a barbers and a shack where the brother fixes bikes. Her father's pride and joy the car is updated every year. Her mother cooks delicious frog stuffed with ginger and turmeric. She also cooks the popular Khmer curry that you can get in the barang cafes. This really does feel like home with more modern amenities quickly being provided in an area which only 8 years ago was a backwater. This small village is fast being encompassed by Phnom Penh city limits
