France to Create a Radio Programme to Boost French Language in Cambodia
AKP Phnom Penh, February 19, 2020 --

France is planning to create a radio programme in French on the areas of economy and agriculture, an effort to promote French language in Cambodia.

The plan was shared by H.E. Mrs. Eva Nguyen Binh, Ambassador of France to Cambodia, during her meeting here yesterday with Cambodian Minister of Information H.E. Khieu Kanharith.

As there are now many French enterprises and nationals in Cambodia, the embassy has decided to create the programme, two hours per week, she said.

France is also considering providing scholarships to Cambodian youths and students to study journalism in France , H.E. Mrs. Eva Nguyen Binh added.

For his part, H.E. Khieu Kanharith welcomed the scholarship provision and voiced his full support to the creation of the radio programme in French.

Excellent news for those lovely sweet-natured old guys that come to you desperately hoping to converse once again in the language of their school days.
I would love to speak French just for that - imagine the stories they have to tell.

You could go to Le Lyon d'Or on 110 th / Riverside corner, it's full of old Frogs speaking Khmer and old Khmers speaking Frog. I liked it a lot, after a hard day's work. Fresh beer, saucisson and peanuts for all !
