1 month ago i have bought 10 little pigs for a cambodian family + all the suspected cost ( 1100$)
price 1 little pig 50$, and the rest covers the food and medicines and doctor cost.
after 4 months the pigs are big enough to sell 150$ each.

the family can keep the profit, but on pigs are very high costs and high desease risk so next time i wanna buy 1 or 2 cows for the family.

i was thining to buy 1cow and 1 calf. 1 calf they can feed and sell later, and meanwhile the cow getting pregnant for making more calfs.

somebody knows the prices of a good beefcow???

im not in cambodia now.

I have not been to Sharky's bar for a while, so next time I will ask, how much for a old cow?

Not sure about a calf, but a fully grown cow sells for around 500$ I believe.

200$ sounds low, maybe a calf? To be honest I never really looked into it but I happened to ask some farmers in Kampot over the weekend and that's what they told me... Maybe they were talking out of their asses or maybe the market is different there...

Looked into this early in 2014 for a pay-it-forward project and $200 was the given figure, but was not formalized in any way - your number could well be right. Come to think of it I heard in an unrelated discussion that the whole RPG/cow thing involved $200 for the cow, but that may have been for a geriatric or low-caste one.

Well... that just takes the whole challenge right out of the experience, doesn't it?
